June 29, 2009-Spent a leisurely day on the road after an evening of storms that knocked out the electricity in the campground. Fortunately it was very cool in the evening and we didn’t need the air conditioning or the generator to run. Les was like a jack in the box, up and down as the power went off, came on, went off. I wanted to see if we could get a refund for not using the electricity but Les said I couldn’t embarrass him today - I wasn’t going to do it anyway since it was so cheap to stay there, but no wonder why! As we were leaving we had to wait for a young deer to cross the road, really neat sight.
June 30, 2009-Easy day today, but weird to travel through 2 time zones. By the time we arrived here in Benson Arizona we had gained 2 hours - it was 9:00 am for a long time. We rode our bikes down to Walmart for a few supplies but didn’t anticipate the quick raging rainstorm that cropped up while riding back to the campsite. Les was trying to carry a 12 pack on his handlebars but quickly the cardboard broke so he was peddling with it on his lap and this deluge in his face. We were both soaked by the time we got back but we haven’t had that good of a belly laugh in some time. Rained on and off throughout the evening. Looking forward to seeing my niece and her husband in Arizona and then onto a quick visit with my former boss and friends from Aetna. We are missing our kitties and Les work and me Curves, but okay the moment just passed.
